This photograph shows four whaling men out on a seal hunt. They are standing in a line across the picture, with the man on the extreme left holding a rifle. Two of the other men have long poles or boathooks. There is a dead seal lying on the ground in front of them, with a trickle of blood in the immediate foreground.
