Pottery beaker, Bronze Age 3,700 - 4,000 years ago

The decorations on this beaker were made by pressing a twisted cord into the wet clay while rotating the unfired vessel. Sherds of this type of beaker are found at domestic sites as well in graves, suggesting it served a practical as well as ritual use.
