Quarter deck of 'Terra Nova.'
Lantern slide made of glass
Museum number 1972-351-47
This lantern slide shows a seaman at the wheel of the Dunde whaling ship 'Terra Nova.' The double wheel can be clearly seen, and the boom of a sail just above. The seaman is facing forward with his left hand stretched to the top of the wheel as he grips a spoke, while his right hand is holding a spoke level with his waist.
