When is The McManus open?

Monday to Saturday, 10am - 5pm            
Sundays, 12:30pm - 4:30pm           
Last entry is 15 minutes before gallery closing time.

We are open every day except 24, 25, 26 December, 1 and 2 January.

Is there a charge to get into the museum?

Admission to The McManus is free but we do accept donations, through our donations boxes in our building and online on our JustGiving page.

There may be an admission charge for certain workshops, activities or special events.

Can I take photographs inside the building?

You are welcome to take photographs for personal use, but please note that the use of flash photography, close up photography or tripods is not permitted.

Does The McManus have a shop so I can buy a souvenir?

The McManus Shop, located by the entrance, stocks a wide range of items to appeal to both museum visitors and city centre shoppers. Among the items you will find a range of gift ideas including historical reproduction items, design led giftware, postcards and prints from the collection, traditional toys, books on local history, national history and art and so much more.

Does The McManus offer someplace where I can eat? 

Yes, The McManus Café has an extensive selection of dishes freshly prepared on the premises. There's also a children's menu for the under 12s. If you just want to pop in for tea or coffee, we have a selection of Fairtrade drinks and a variety of delicious homemade cakes and scones.

I would like to bring my class on a school field trip. How would I go about this?

Booking is essential for all Schools and Community Groups visiting the museum, whether you are self-directed or taking part in any activities. You can make your booking by contacting the Creative Learning Team on (01382) 307216 or email creativelearning@leisureandculturedundee.com.

I would like to hire The McManus as a venue. How would I go about this?

How do I find out about job vacancies at The McManus?

All of our vacancies are posted on www.myjobscotland.gov.uk.

I have an object I would like to offer to the museum.

Dundee’s collections number some 150,000 objects and we continue to collect for the City. We welcome offers, but we are unable to accept everything that is offered to us. If you would like to offer an object to the collection, please email themcmanus@leisureandculturedundee.com and provide us with as much information as possible about the objects, including some images.
